TIME ZONE / AVAILABILITY. PST. I often stay up later at night and sporadically through the day. Tagging speed is usually pretty fast but I give plot threads priority.
OOC Information.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION. Kazuhira is human, half Japanese and half American (likely of Germanic origin), with shaggy blonde hair, scruff, and blue eyes. He's 6ft (183cm) tall. 188lbs (85kg) and lean and muscular. He's missing his right arm from below the shoulder and his left leg from below the knee, and has partially transparent prosthetics with both amputations being capped by generators. He doesn't use them all the time, because they're prototype solid-light things and his phantom limb syndrome is pretty intense. When he's not using them, he has a crutch to get around. He's 38 years old but looks younger. He used to drink more and probably does on occasion still, but only to moderation since his mobility has been greatly decreased. He probably smells faintly of cologne, and to the keen of scent he enjoys fast food and spicy foods. He has no discernible accent beyond "American" when speaking English. His Japanese is more casual.

MEDICAL.
Eyes

Miller's eyes have been repaired, but he came in with a strange sort of eye cataract that made him photosensitive. In his normal state, wearing his sunglasses was almost essential because his eyes were so reactive to light. It also meant he could see some things that would normally be invisible to average humans (they were only a little more visible to him).

Amputee

Kaz is a double amuputee. Both limbs were cut cleanly with a heated blade, one along his upper right bicep and the other around his upper left shin. Without his tech prosthetics he requires a crutch to get around, and has learned to use his left hand as well as his right.

The prosthetics themselves are made with the same technology as the Training Sim Room. Both prosthetics have generator caps that create a solid hologram (that becomes transparent toward the end of the limbs, but still provides substance and resistance). He has a nueral implant that allows him to use the prosthetics as well as he would his normal arm (including turning it on and off). Currently neither the prosthetics aren't causing an issue.

Kaz also experiences phantom pains. I generally treat these as not treatable because he went ten days without proper medical care after the limbs were initially lost.

Mental

Kaz has PTSD and depressive episodes. The latter coming from his father, who committed suicide. Though Miller hasn't shown any signs of suicidal ideology, but he can work himself until his stress levels make him ill. He's also prone to angry outbursts and has nightmares.

ABILITIES.
Physical

As a former member of the JSDF, Miller is a trained fighter. He faced Big Boss (one of the toughest fighters in the world at his time) and held his own for some time. He only recently became an amputee so he's not adapted, but he's still fast enough to disarm people and defend himself. If he should ever get prosthetics he would probably have his fighting abilities again.

Management

Miller began running his mother's business at ten, and has developed an exceptional business sense. He maintained the books and staff management on motherbase when not interfered with by Big Boss or Venom Snake. He opened his own hamburger business after being prompted by Codetalker's insistence on having a perfect hamburger. He also excels at information dispatch and assisting in combat deployment.

Intelligence

Miller can fluently speak English and Spanish, though his native language is Japanese. He went to an ivy league school in the United States before returning to Japan. He is well read in war tactics, principles, particular military structures for each country, and nuclear regulations as of 1984. He's a huge fan of individuals like Che Guevara (who he saw Big Boss as resembling when he was younger) and citing his book "Guerrilla Warfare", T.E. Lawrence, Mao Zedong, General Sandino, and Kusunoki Masashige. He's also well-versed in survival tactics, able to make use of rudimentary items to solve complex situations. Think MacGuyver levels of improvisation.

Trainer

Miller's form of training is ruthless but efficient. He was known as "Master Miller" when he ran drills in Colombia, and the "Hellmaster" when he trained agents of Foxhound (including Solid Snake).

Decoy

Miller's artificial arm is equipped with the ability to generate decoys in a dangerous situation. He can scan a person and generate a holographic duplicate of that person. It can't make sound and it can't be too terribly far away from him, but it's enough to distract someone so another can sneak by.

SPECIAL ITEMS. Tranquilizer gun. Multi-functional baton. Bulletproof coat.

OOC TRIGGERS. Cipher, he still hasn't gotten over that. Making note of everything that he's lost. After Big Boss was present in the game, he managed to make peace with him.

QUIRKS. Capable of being friendly and giving people warm nicknames. Likes singing and could play a guitar when he had two arms. He learned to make hamburgers while trying to impress a scientist and opened his own business. Enjoys puns (both Japanese and English).
Permissions.
PSYCHIC. I am okay with some mind control, but ask first. Same with his memories. Ask me first for my interpretation of specific ones. If you read his thoughts, again ask first, but feelings are totally fine.

AFFECTION. He might react badly to hugging and kissing from the wrong people, so if you're worried ask me. But otherwise go for it.

MAGIC. Illusions yes. Physical attacks, definitely ask first.

PHYSICAL. Ask first. Mobility is a severe issue here, and he can only defend himself for so long against a seasoned fighter. I may have to call in back-up to keep him from getting killed.

4TH WALLING. I generally don't like to do it or have it done to me. I'll avoid it when I can. If it seems fun I'll definitely discuss it with someone, though.

BACK-TAGGING. If it's over a week I might not reply, but go ahead. Similarly I might backtag but I won't be disappointed if I don't get a response that late.

CONTENT WARNINGS.
  • Metal Gear is a generally 17+ canon with adult subjects and materials.

  • Child death, gore, mutilation, and rape are a part of Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeroes and V. There are a lot of consent issues in general, like the fact that Venom Snake never gave actual permission to be brainwashed and turned into Big Boss's decoy, or the dubious consent of the B&B squad from Guns of the Patriots, or that Big Boss's DNA was used to create children against his wishes.

  • Nuclear weapons and infectious diseases play a significant role in much of the canon. Be cautious if those are intense issues for you.

IC TRIGGERS. If I feel uncomfortable about something I'll bring it up.
